Hello, I will be in Austin next week for the SxSWi festival and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good spot with free wifi? Hopefully along 6th street, like a nice cafe or even a bar. Thanks!

Just about every establishment downtown has free wireless these days, as you can see on jwire.com. However, some good bets: Halcyon on 5th (if you want coffee or some cheap lunch), Gingerman right next door (for a large beer selection and a nice patio). On 6th, the Starbucks on the corner at Congress has free Wi-Fi, or the Omni hotel up the street. Hell, even Casino el Camino has free Wi-fi now.

Checkout BD Riley's: http://www.bdrileys.co...
austin is home to Dell Computers, Vignette, among other high tech infrastructure companies ..
BD Riley's should be fun, one of the early sr mgmt of a large Austin SW company retired upon acquisition of a Big Company, now he has fun and manages this bar ...
before acquisition, ... we used to joke that we were a "drinking company with a SW problem ... hence ... you'll see the fun work_hard_play_hard atmosphere perhaps cascaded into this pub ...
have fun in Austin .. a wonderful eclectic city.
